It is called sotteok sotteok. Doesn’t that sound cute? In its name, the letter “so” is from the word “sausage,” which is like a hot dog in America, and “tteok” means rice cakes.

- Rice cakes
- Sausage
- Bamboo skewer
- Korean chili paste(gochujang)
- Regular soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Tomato ketchup
- Sugar
- Cooking oil
- Sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Soak bamboo skewers in some water.
- Soak rice cakes in HOT water for about 10 minutes
- In a mixing bowl, put 1 tablespoon of Korean chili paste, 0.5 tablespoon of soy sauce, 0.5 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 3 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of corn syrup, and give it a good mix.
- Once the rice cakes get soft, pat dry them with paper towels.
- Let’s skewer the rice cake and sausage, one by one.
- Wrap handles with foil. (optional)
- Place them in the basket and spray some oil on both sides. Cook at 180℃/355℉ for about 7 minutes.
- Spread the sauce on both sides. Let it continue to cook for another 3 minutes.
- Transfer it to a serving plate and finish it off with some sesame seeds and parsley flakes. Enjoy~!
